A great night was had by the Sendrig Construction Ltd team out in full force to support St Oswalds Hospice at their annual ball which had a Roaring 20’s theme. A lot of money was raised on the night for such a great cause with some excellent prizes in the auction. Get involved by making a donation which is easily done by following the instructions on their website. Thank you to all the team at St Oswalds for making it a night to remember.

As we enter 2018 Sendrig are delighted to welcome some new faces to their ranks. In respect of the administration team Anne-Marie McCall has joined the company to assist our Head of Administration Louise Smith. Having previously served in the Armed Forces Anne-Marie impressed in her interview with her personable demeanor and demonstration of organisational skills. On the Quantity Surveying front we are delighted to welcome Gary Dillon to the company as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Having extensively looked into Gary’s background his availability was an opportunity that we could not miss given his standing within the construction industry and comprehensive skillset. We are sure both staff additions will prove to be of great benefit to Sendrig and its clients in 2018 and beyond and adds to our excitement at the year ahead.
After around 5 months of hard work the extension to Fountains Hall at Durham University has drawn to completion. Despite encountering various obstacles along the way the project was safely delivered by site manager Ian Topham within the timescale agreed. Ian himself will no doubt be happy with the final product given the long working hours he invested and the high standard of workmanship on display throughout. This project was extremely challenging not least because of the extensive temporary works required to hold the existing roof in position whilst the extension was formed. The consultant Atkins had provided a high quality specification of materials/products to be used and therefore it required skilled workmanship to ensure precise installation.
Having achieved planning permission and commenced construction in 2017 Sendrig Construction Ltd are continuing with their new build development of a luxury home named Laburnum House into 2018. The property has been designed by Focus Architecture to match that of the surrounding properties on a small but unique estate previously constructed by Sendrig Construction founder and former Managing Director Kevin Lee. Internally the specification of finishes and layout has been tweaked from the earlier built properties to make it a more bespoke and distinguished development.
2017 saw the completion of our development at Hartford Road East. Overseen by Terry Gorham the project had various challenges not least the requirement for an extensive drainage system certainly not commonplace on this type of development. Despite these challenges Terry managed to deliver the project to time and budget with the end product of a very high standard. The estate now named Swinside Gardens is a perfect example of the advances the company is now making since changing the structure and focus.
Works to Phase 7 of the project have progressed rapidly with only some external works to complete once listed building consents have been obtained.
See our projects page for further details and images of the works undertaken.
Our development at Hartford Road East in Bedlington in partnership with Bernicia continues to progress to programme despite the challenging weather recently encountered.
Under the stewardship and in the safe hands of Terry Gorham we have seen the major element of groundswork completed with some heavy gauge drainage installed with minimal disruption to the good people of Bedlington. Further updates to be provided in due course.
Following his appointment in April 2015 we are delighted to advise that Jim Humphreys has signed a long term contract. Jim has brought in a wealth of experience along with a finely honed skillset to compliment the professionally qualified personnel already at Sendrig.
