Client Industry – Educational Sector
Project Value – £300k
Project Description – The works were focused on the refurbishment of the ground floor and first floor corridors as well as the male and female WC areas within the site. The aim was to refurbish the corridor areas to provide higher standard and cleaner finishes. Within the WC area the idea was to open up the area and alter the layout to provide WC’s with a higher standard of finish whilst catering for the requirements of the universities students.
Works Description – Within the corridors the floor finishes and wall finishes were refurbished to a high specification provided by client. The WC area was completely stripped out back to a shell and then reinstated to a reconstructed layout including opening up a lobby section by removing a loadbearing wall and inserting a steel lintel. The ceilings were constructed both in suspended ceiling with mineral ceiling tiles and MF ceiling to provide a contrasting finish within different locations within the WCs. The toilets and vanity units were constructed using a quality IPS system and were finished with granite worktops with semi recessed WHB. All mechanical and electrical elements within the WC’s were upgraded including the lighting, hand dryers and ventilation system. As part of the works we also refurbished a lecture theatre.
