Project Description – To work as the main contractor as part of a strong design team to deliver a new restaurant and commercial kitchen installation within an existing listed building and working office.
Works Description – The building was designed by William Bell and constructed in 1911. We were instructed to install a new commercial kitchen facility and restaurant area as well as a new breakout room.
All areas were replastered and new finishes applied throughout. A complete install was undertaken to provide a new restaurant and kitchen area including all fixtures and fittings. A new breakout room was provided including all furniture and restoration of an existing parquet floor which had previously been covered over. The existing reception area was also updated to provide a classy and modern space.
Sash windows which had been enclosed by masonry many years before were exposed and brought back to their former glory.
Due to the listed status of the building internal doors; mouldings; decorative timbers were refinished to retain these elements but to bring them back to a suitable standard for a building of its standing.
